Alex woke up in her bed to a noise. It sounded like a fire engine. She looked at her blinds. There seemed to be light seeping through them. She walked over and opened them. The house across from hers was in flames
“Oh-no…” She saw people laughing and yelling in front of the house. She could see John and Wildflower standing in front of it. Alex ran out the door and to them.
“Hey Saph!” said Wildflower in a cheerful voice.
“Oh my God… What did you do?” She scolded them.
“Remember that soldier from yesterday?” John held Alex’s hand.
Alex slowly nodded her head.
“Found him going into his house, so we lit it on fire.”
“That’s insane!” Alex said.
“Can I stay at your house, Saph?” Wildflower asked.
“What, why?” said Alex.
“If my parents find out about this, they’ll kill me!”
“I don’t-”
“Thought we were sisters…”
“Okay, fine. We just have to be really quiet though.” “Alex paused. “Wait- where are his wife and kid?”
“They made it out.” John clapped his hands.
“Okay. John, do you want to come to my house?”
“Naw, don’t want to make a burden on you.”
“Okay then. C’mon Wildflower!” Alex walked back to her house.
“Woohoo! Thanks Saph!” Wildflower danced to Alex’s house.
The two quietly entered the house.
“Okay, you have to be quiet Wildflower.” Alex whispered.
Wildflower held up her thumb.
They walked into Alex’s room.
“Hello there.” Her parents said, standing in her room.
“Uh-uh-hey!” Mom and Dad! What are you doing…?” Alex stood in front of her friend.
“That one of your friends?” Said her father, pointing at Wildflower.
“Yes…” Alex tried to fake a smile.
“We ought to call the police…”
“Dad! Please! She tried to stop them from burning the house!”
“Oh really…” Her mother frowned.
“Yes! Please mom and dad?” Alex got down on her knees.
“All right.” Her parents gave in. “But just make sure you’re careful. The police are out arresting people.
“John!” Alex ran to the door. She saw John being carried into the back of a van. “No come back!” The van slowly drove away.
Two policemen grabbed Alex.
“Looks like we got another.” One said.
“Put her in.” Said the other. The two put her in the backseat of a police car.
“No!” She screamed. “I’m innocent!”
Her parents both ran out, screaming to stop.
“Help!” She yelled.
“Sapphire!” Wildflower ran out too.
“Please! Stop the car!” All three yelled…
